Paris, France, 20 May 2014 – Qosmos®, the market leader in embedded Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) and network intelligence technology for use in physical, virtualized and in SDN architectures, today announced that it has joined the CloudBand™ Ecosystem Program, an open community of Service Providers, NFV Platform Partners and Virtual Network Functions Vendors created by Alcatel-Lucent to advance industry adoption of Network Functions Virtualization (NFV).
The CloudBand Ecosystem opens access to the first NFV management platform providing multi-vendor products and services support to accelerate service provider transition to NFV and advance transformation to carrier cloud and revenue-generating services.
Qosmos is a pure-play OEM vendor of DPI-based Network Intelligence technology. Its software development kit and probes recognize thousands of communication protocols and metadata attributes, creating an information layer that gives an accurate picture of real-time data activity on networks. Equipment makers and software vendors use Qosmos to get real-time traffic intelligence, accelerate time to market and ensure continuous protocol signature updates.
“Carrier cloud services and network functions must have access to continuous, detailed, real-time information about network traffic,” said Erik Larsson, Vice President of Marketing at Qosmos. “Our technology creates this application-awareness and therefore constitutes an essential innovation enabler for NFV applications.”
“The CloudBand Ecosystem Program provides a hub, where application providers, platform partners and service providers can share information and collaborate on everything related to NFV,” said Valerie Noto, Director for the CloudBand Ecosystem Program at Alcatel-Lucent. “We are delighted to welcome Qosmos in our ecosystem and are looking forward to seeing how their technology can contribute to accelerate the realization of NFV”.
